Important to know
- All KeyBank APIs require certificates, user credentials, and certain permissions.
- Specific permissions are required to access RTP Send Payment or Wire Transfer capabilities.
- A KeyBank client ID is required when initiating or validating a payment and is provided by KeyBank during onboarding and is not the same as client credentials.
- Transfer currency must be USD.
- Reference IDs are required with each request to support traceability, reconciliation, idempotency, and retries.
- Domestic payments may use ABA routing information.
- International payments may require BIC, foreign bank system identifiers, and a complete structured address.
- Intermediary bank information may be required for domestic third-party and international payments.
- All payments go through duplicate checks to help prevent duplicate transactions.
